Brandi Reissenweber's Farewell Reading will be held this Saturday, August 19th, at 8:00 PM at the Kerouac House
Brandi brings the reading series back to the Kerouac House, which is located on the corner of Clouser and Shady Lane in College Park . Come hear Brandi read what she's been working on since arriving at the house back in June. Chips and Sips provided.

Dr. Vilbert White, UCF's Public History Director, has been awarded the 2006 Rhea Marsh and Dorothy Lockhart Smith Winter Park History Research Grant. White will research black Pullman Porters and associated railroad workers in Winter Park. The results will be housed at the Winter Park Public Library and the Olin Library at Rollins College, and presented to the public in 2007. Congratulations, Dr. White!

The Orlando Poetry Troupe inaugurates its fall season with a performance on Sunday, October first at Winter Park Library from 2 to 4 p.m. The topic is poetry that relates to nature for the first performance of the Troupe’s 2006-2007 season. The Troupe performs four times a year, in October, December, February, and April when “anything goes,” for National Poetry Month. Additional readings are performed at local libraries, schools, retirement homes, coffee shops and bookstores. The performance is free.
The Troupe was created in 2005 by Hinda-jonathan to share original poetry with the Central Florida arts scene. Current members are Alice R. Friedman, Estelle Lipp, Hinda-jonathan, Leslie Halpern and Robert Osborne.
A Few Good Men. It’s easy to see that more men are needed! Experience in public readings is not necessary. Excellence in your work and the desire to contribute fairly to a group is a must. For an audition, please contact Hinda-jonathan at Poet05@bellsouth.net.

Wild Rose Press is looking for holiday-themed stories. They accept
novels and short stories, and have a wide variety of lines within the
Wild Rose framework, so you can write everything from inspirational to
erotic, with everything in between and it's probably going to fit into
